How to Obtain a Florida Concealed Carry Permit?

STEP 1: DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY

As you will see, question 4 in the above quiz asks if you have a certificate from a course that shows you have the meet the required levels of proficiency. The classes I offer will help you meet that requirement.

Active military or retired military with the DD214 form do not need to take any training course.

STEP 2: COMPLETE REQUIRED TRAINING

As a Certified Instructor by the NRA, my course qualifies under Florida State Law.

STEP 3: SUBMIT APPLICATION

In-Person Application Process:

Called the "Fast Track" process applicants can now submit your application in person at one of eight regional offices located throughout Florida, simply call the office nearest you to schedule an appointment. At the time of your appointment, you will be directed to a computer station where you will complete the application electronically. Staff will review your application, take your fingerprints and photos and process your payment.

Application Process Via Mail:

• Download and complete an Application

• Contact your local law enforcement agency to submit fingerprints electronically (Details here)

• Have a passport-style, color photograph made (2" by 2" on white background)

• Include documentation of required training

• Get certified copies of court documents related to any criminal charges against you.

• In the presence of a Notary (doesn't have to be a notary in FL) sign the application. Submit a check or money order for the license fee payable to the "Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services" ($119.00)

The total state fee for the concealed weapon license is $119 (an application fee of $55 + a fingerprint-processing fee of $42). The tax collector office charges an additional convenience fee ($22 for new license applications). The total state renewal fee for a Florida resident is $45.
